As part of Carers’ Rights Day on Thursday 24 November, the Bury Carers’ Hub team will be at the Fairfield General Hospital to offer advice and guidance to both visitors and colleagues about carers’ rights.
The team will be in two spots – at the main entrance and in the foyer of the Broad Oak restaurant, between 9.30am and 4.30pm.
The theme of this year’s Carers’ Rights Day is ‘caring costs’. And it does, in so many ways. Whether the cost to an unpaid carer’s wellbeing and ability to access services or the financial costs associated with looking after someone and the effects on carers’ employment options.
Taking care of someone may cost carers the quality of their relationships – through not being able to take time out to spend with friends and family or through changes to the relationship with those they care for. And the current cost of living crisis is being felt even more acutely by carers throughout the UK.

No matter if you have recently become a carer or realised you have been caring for a while –or many years – without support, it’s important you understand your rights and are able to access the support that is available to you as soon as they need it.
