14 March 2022

A cohort of six NCA colleagues have been awarded a highly regarded fellowship designed for emerging health systems leaders that are seeking to lead change and transform care.

These six colleagues, who work at Care Organisations in Salford, Oldham, Bury and Rochdale, have become CHI Fellows in Healthcare Innovation and Leadership.

The fellowship is awarded by the Centre for Healthcare Innovation (CHI) Singapore and the NCA worked in partnership with CHI to develop it.

Nicky Clarke, Chief of People at the NCA said:

“I am so proud of these six colleagues and everything they have achieved as part of this cutting-edge CHI Fellowship. Innovation is very important to us at the NCA and is a key part of sustainable healthcare. It is also a great privilege for my colleagues to be able to share knowledge and learn together with other healthcare leaders working in Singapore and beyond.”

The six NCA colleagues who have become CHI Fellows are:

  • Dr Sarah Rose, Consultant Physician, Salford Care Organisation
  • Lyndsay Pearce, Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon, Salford Care Organisation
  • Dr Suresh Chandran, Divisional Clinical Director, Oldham Care Organisation
  • Rui Maricato, Quality Improvement Lead, Oldham Care Organisation
  • Katy Alcock, Assistant Director of Allied Health Professionals, Bury Care Organisation
  • Keeley Gibbons, Divisional Managing Director for Planned Care, Rochdale Care Organisation

The NCA worked in partnership with CHI to develop the programme, which involved learning from one another, with the Singapore based participants visited our Care Organisation sites virtually to facilitate this.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic the NCA cohort were not able to travel to Singapore, however they were still able to take part in the fellowship virtually along with the Singapore based participants, who also visited our Care Organisation sites virtually.

Co-learning and collaboration with CHI’s network partners in Singapore and the UK, is a key part of the fellowship programme.

The CHI fellowship is a project and practice-based programme, framed around CHI’s renowned Innovation Cycle.

Professional development, personalised mentorship, peer and experiential co-learning are all key parts of the programme.
