The NCA was launched as a new foundation trust earlier this month on 1 October and operates hospitals and community services in Salford, Oldham, Bury and Rochdale.

The trust is one of the largest NHS organisations in country, employing 20,000 staff and replaces the Salford Royal and Pennine Acute Trusts.

In order to stand for election as a governor, members of the public must first register as a member of the Trust. In addition they must also live in the area they want to represent. Existing members that are passionate about health and social care can seek election, as can those who are new members of the trust.

Governors play an important role in the governance of the trust with responsibilities including representing the interests of members and the public as a whole, contributing to future plans, holding non-executive directors to account for the performance of the board of directors, and appointing the chairman and non-executive directors.

The trust is holding elections for sixteen public governor vacancies in the following constituencies:

  • Salford (5 seats)
  • Oldham (4 seats)
  • Bury (3 seats)
  • Rochdale (3 seats)
  • Rest of England and Wales (1 seat)

In order to make the elections as safe as possible for all of those involved for infection control reasons, nomination submissions must be made online. For more information and to complete a nomination form please visit www.cesvotes.com/nca2021.

People who are unable to apply online can request a nomination form by calling 0208 889 9203 or emailing ftnominationenquiries@cesvotes.com. Alternatively write to Civica Election Services Limited, The Election Centre, 33 Clarendon Road, London, N8 0NW.
