NorthCare Charity launches new website

29 April 2021

NorthCare Charity – the official NHS charity for the Northern Care Alliance NHS Group (NCA) – has launched a brand new website.

Staff, patients and families are encouraged to visit www.northcarecharity.org to find out more about how the charity supports the NCA across its hospitals and community services in Bury, Oldham, Rochdale and Salford.

Thanks to generous donations from individuals, communities, schools and businesses, the charity goes beyond the scope of the NHS by funding innovative equipment, education, research and wellbeing activities.

The new dedicated website allows the charity to celebrate its supporters, while providing new fundraisers with information about how they can get involved and make a donation. The website also includes an events section and fundraising calendar, which will showcase local fundraising opportunities that people can support.

This is the first time the charity has had its own website and marks a new chapter in its history since forming under the name NorthCare Charity in November 2020. It brings together two previous charities - Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust (SRFT) Charitable Funds and Pennine Acute Hospitals Charity.

Stephen Owen, NorthCare Charity fundraising manager, said: “We’re delighted to have launched our new website, which gives us a fantastic platform to celebrate all the wonderful contributions our supporters make to our hospitals and community services across Bury, Oldham, Rochdale and Salford.

“Although the NCA has an operating budget of £1.3bn, that money goes straight into running the core services that people have come to expect from their local NHS. The donations and support we receive allows us to go beyond the scope of the NHS and continue our long history of pioneering health care that is helping us become one of the most innovative environments in the UK.

“Although we’ve been overwhelmed by the support we’ve received during the coronavirus pandemic, our fundraising needs never stop, and we need the public’s help as much now as ever before. We hope this website will demonstrate how together we are making a difference to the lives of thousands of patients and staff every year.”
