Platinum Jubilee celebrations across our communities

31 May 2022

The bunting is up and the nation is ready to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee this weekend. Wards and departments across our four hospitals and community sites are planning events marking the occasion, and there are a whole host of official celebrations in our boroughs of Bury, Oldham, Rochdale and Salford too.

Bury

See Bury Council’s website for a long list of festivities including The Big Jubilee Lunch, street parties, beacon lighting and The Queen’s Green Canopy – a unique tree planting initiative.

Oldham

The Oldham Council website has details of “Festival Oldham” – a two day arts festival with outdoor performances, dancing and circus acts, as well as the Royal Mile of Bunting, the Jubilee beacon and much more.

Rochdale

Check out the Rochdale Online website for details of special Jubilee events across Rochdale borough this weekend, including the Street Eat festival, Light a Beacon in Middleton and The Queen’s Jubilee Afternoon Tea.

Salford

The Salford City Council website is the go-to place for all things Jubilee this week. On it you’ll find details of local events in your area including free weekend walks from the Salford Ranger Team, Irlam Live, the Jubilee Weekender and the Platinum Picnic in Lightoaks Park.
