Partial Booking gives you an estimated appointment date (requested by your clinician) and places you on a wating list. Six weeks before your appointment date we will contact you and ask you to get in touch and confirm an appointment date and time.
For example: on December 1st 2022 Mr Smith has seen a clinician who asks for him to return in April 2023. Because this is more than six weeks time Mr Smith leaves the clinic and the reception staff add him to a waiting list noting that he needs to return in April 2023. Six weeks before his appointment is due, Mr Smith is contacted by a Waiting List Coordinator to schedule his appointment.
This ensures that patient appointments are booked in order of waiting time, medical priority and avoids patient appointments being rescheduled.

I have a follow-up already booked, what happens next?
If you are already under the care of The Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust and have a future follow-up appointment that is more than 6 weeks away, this will be cancelled and you will be placed on a waiting list. The date of your cancelled appointment will be used as the target date for your new appointment to be booked.
When we make contact and confirm a date and time with you we will send a letter to confirm your follow-up appointment. You will receive a text message reminder at 7 and 3 days before your appointment. You will be able to reschedule this appointment by responding to the text message.
