Armed Forces Week: Monday 22 June 2026 – Saturday 27 June 2026
Get involved
Armed Forces Week is your opportunity to recognise and support those who serve, who have served, and their families. This year, we’re inviting you to take part.
Did you know?
- Reservists make up around one sixth of the UK Armed Forces
- Over 37,000 people, including healthcare professionals commit their spare time to serve
- There are around 228,000 veterans in the North West alone, with around 68,037 veterans or reservists within the Greater Manchester area
Many of these individuals and their families are part of our communities and may be within our care.
Are you asking the question?
When meeting patients, do you ask:
“Have you, or an immediate family member, ever served in the UK Armed Forces?”
And importantly, do you understand why that question matters?
Why attend the webinar?
Under the Armed Forces Covenant, NHS organisations must give due regard to the needs of the Armed Forces community in planning and delivering services.
To support this, NHS England and the Veterans Covenant Healthcare Alliance (VCHA) deliver the National Training and Education Programme (NTEP).
