Patient Feedback

Your Voice Matters - Friends & Family Test Surveys (FFT)

What is the Friends and Family Test?

The NHS Friends and Family Test (FFT) is a survey which has been designed to help service providers and commissioners understand whether patients are happy with the service provided, or if any improvements are needed.  It's a quick and anonymous way to give your views after receiving NHS care or treatment.  As submissions are anonymous, we will therefore be unable to respond to any comments.

You can also watch the following FFT animations on YouTube.

How the FFT works

After you’ve completed your treatment or you’re discharged from a service, you may be invited to complete the FFT.

Here are some of the other methods of how we try to capture patient feedback:

  • Text message
  • Paper survey
  • QR code/URL link

Service users who speak Urdu, Bengali, Romanian, Polish, and Portuguese can also complete the survey in their own language by using the drop-down box provided.

Positive patient stories

We are passionate about patient experience, and we want every one of our patients, service users, their family, and friends, to receive the best possible service when being treated at, or visiting, the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust (NCA).

At the NCA we want every member of the team to feel supported to be the best they can be. We want to hear about the care you received, as your feedback is important to us.
