Keeping you Safe and Secure during your hospital stay

11 March 2021

If you’re due to stay at one of our hospitals in Bury, Oldham, Rochdale or Salford as an inpatient or if you have a relative who is due to come in for treatment and stay overnight, you can learn more about what we need you to do when you get here, in our new patient video.

This short film covers the key things that we need all of our patients to do with regard to preventing the spread of Covid19 during your stay, to help keep everyone safe and secure.

Daniel Orpen-Rackham, Team Lead Infection Prevention Control Officer, Miranda Justo-Nunez, Trainee Clinical Psychologist, and Jessica Houten, Emergency Department Staff Nurse at Salford Care Organisation feature in the short film and talk about the key areas that we are asking all of our patients to be aware of.

Key messages on social distancing, hand hygiene and wearing a facemask are covered in the film, as well as some practical tips about how you can reduce your risk of infection during your stay, including keeping movement around the hospital to a minimum when you are here.

The film also explains the current visiting policy, and how patients can ask for support with contacting family and friends should they need to during their stay.

Daniel said: “We want our patients to feel supported and informed during their stay and so we’ve made this film to help explain how they can help keep themselves, our other patients and our staff safe and secure. These key messages are so important, and we are really pleased to be able to use another platform to reach people in this way.”

The video is available here, please feel free to share with your friends and family so that we can ensure as many people as possible are aware of the messages conveyed by Daniel, Miranda and Jessica and that we keep everyone as safe and secure as possible.
