Oldham Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) has been awarded with the Laing Buisson accolade for Public Private Partnership of the Year.
The CDC is a partnership with Alliance Medical Ltd and has been open almost a year providing the latest diagnostic testing for service users in the heart of the community.
The award represents the hard work and dedication of all the team members, from both the NCA and our partners, who were involved in bringing the Oldham CDC to life to help deliver lifesaving checks and scans that result in quicker diagnoses and improved patient outcomes.
Aoife Gregory, CDC operational delivery manager said: “This award is a testament to the dedication, hard work, positivity and friendly attitudes of every single colleague who works at the Oldham CDC. We are incredibly proud of the team and delighted to be recognised with this award.”
The groundworks have now begun on the development of an endoscopy unit at Oldham CDC that will open in 2024. The new unit boasts 3 endoscopy rooms and will be equipped with the latest diagnostic testing equipment offering an additional 10,000 endoscopy procedures a year.
Barney Schofield, director of planning and delivery at the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust added: "We are excited that work has begun on our new endoscopy unit at the Oldham Community Diagnostic Centre. The unit will give us advanced new capabilities to diagnose illnesses such as cancers faster and earlier, within a convenient and accessible setting for patients. “
