People and CURE Teams shortlisted for HSJ Awards

22 August 2022

Members of the NCA’s People and CURE Team are celebrating after being shortlisted in this year’s HSJ Awards 2022.

The CURE team have been shortlisted in the ‘Provider Collaboration of the Year’ category for their fantastic work with NHS Greater Manchester Integrated Care’s Making Smoking History team.

Together they have been working with the community pharmacy provider (CHL) on a pharmacy pilot initiative that continues the support patients in Oldham receive to help them quit smoking as an in-patient when they leave hospital. Patients continue to access support via local pharmacies and the programme is helping more patients than ever to quit smoking.

Sarah Wray, specialist nurse from the CURE Team, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be shortlisted for a HSJ Award. Our collaboration with the Making Smoking History team and local pharmacies in Oldham is making a real difference to local service users and we’re helping more patients than ever to access the support they need to quit smoking for good.”

Joining the CURE Team on the HSJ Awards shortlist are the People Team, who have been shortlisted in the ‘Workforce Initiative of the Year’ category for their workforce planning solution that brings together ESR, financial ledger and activity data from acute, social care and community teams to provide a single 10-year view of the NCA workforce. This initiative is helping the Workforce team to strategically plan for a range of different scenarios and improve the way they work.

A massive well done and congratulations to both teams – fingers crossed for you!
