Care of the Elderly - Fairfield Hospital [Bury]

Our Care of the Elderly medics are responsible for providing specialist care to our older patients in inpatient settings, virtual community beds in patients homes and on an in-reach basis. We are part of the Acute Frailty Network. We provide outpatient clinics for various specialities within Care of Elderly Medicine. 

The speciality are involved in many aspects of elderly care including dementia care, acute frailty, movement disorders and our Stroke team on our Fairfield site have recently been nationally recognised as the highest rated Stroke unit in the country for the care it provides.

  • Leg Ulcer Clinics 

  • Early Supported Discharge 

  • TIA and Stroke clinics

  • Inpatient frailty service, A&E in-reach, ward referrals, specialist primary stroke hub with hyperacute stroke unit 

Patients should bring a copy of current medication to all appointments and follow information sent to them in letters for apportionments.
