Pulmonary Rehabilitation - Salford Community

Pulmonary rehabilitation is an exercise and education programme designed for people with long-term lung disease who experience symptoms of breathlessness.

Our programme is six weeks and is made-up of two sessions each week which include an exercise and education. The programme is tailored to suit the needs of each patient based on their condition/s and mobility. A prescription and progression of exercise is agreed with our patients to ensure they receive the most benefit from our programme.

The Pulmonary Rehabilitation Team at Salford consists of nurses, physiotherapist, healthcare support workers and exercise specialists.

Patient who are not suitable for pulmonary rehabilitation:

  • Recent falls or unsteady on feet
  • Unstable cardiac diagnosis/chest pains or unstable high blood pressure
  • Severe cognitive impairment

We accept referrals via GP services, Online referrals via EPR, Self-Referrals (if completed the programme before)
