Board Committee Governance and Terms of Reference

NCA Governance Structure

We reviewed our governance arrangements in March 2023, and the new structure, approved by the Board, was introduced in April 2023. This structure allows greater transparency of ward to board reporting and escalation as required. Through our newly established Non-Executive Director led Board Committees, scrutiny, oversight and connectivity will enhance the collective delivery of our Annual Business Plan, including management and mitigation of risks.  Standardisation of governance structures and arrangements across all Care Organisations and services will also ensure a clear line of effective oversight and accountability through the Care Organisation to the Senior Management Team and onto the Board of Directors.

The Board of Directors takes the final and definitive responsibility for improvements and successful delivery, and therefore equally failures, so it is important as much attention is paid to the quality of care and quality governance as the financial health of the Organisation.
