We are proud to announce that we are the only NHS organisation in the UK to receive a prestigious national award for exceptional commitment to learning and development.
The Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust was named winner in the 2023 Princess Royal Training Award through the City and Guilds Foundation.
The NCA won the category for ‘Equipping leaders to be human-centric’, honouring the significant and positive impact of our Accelerated Leader Development Programme on our colleagues, patients and service users.
The programme is designed for our leaders and managers to learn side-by-side from and with each other. It provides opportunities to learn in ways that will appeal to a range of learning styles and preferences and its goal is to energise, educate and engage people who we would not normally work with each other.
Julia Marshall, associate director of talent and organisational development at the NCA, said: “I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to all of our leaders who have committed to the programme and who have contributed towards this achievement, sharing their stories and the impact the Accelerated Leader Development Programme has had on themselves and their teams and services.”
Sarah Richards, NCA organisation development leader, added: “We are so honoured and proud to have received this award. It would not have been possible without the commitment of our colleagues to carry out the Leader Pledge to achieve lasting and improved changes to the organisation. Almost 4,000 leaders have participated in the programme so far, and we continue to provide this as fundamental development for all leaders.”
