The Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust has appointed Ian Boyle as Chief Financial Officer. 
Ian is a qualified accountant with more than 28 years’ experience in NHS finance and has worked in Trusts, Clinical Commissioning Groups and NHS regulatory bodies, including time spent working with NHS England. He is also Chair of Healthcare Financial Management (HFMA) North West.
Ian is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy and has a keen interest in strategic financial planning in support of quality and transformation.
He joins the NCA from his current role of Chief Finance Officer at Wrightington, Wigan, and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust. He formerly held the position of Chief Finance Officer at Bolton Clinical Commissioning Group from 2017.
Ian said: “I’m thrilled to be making the short journey down the M61 to start a very exciting new chapter in my career. I feel really proud to be joining the NCA and can’t wait to get started and meet all my new colleagues across Oldham, Rochdale, Salford and Bury.

NCA Chief Executive, Dr Owen Williams OBE, said: “Ian will be joining the NCA in December and I am really looking forward to him joining our team. I know we will all benefit from his fantastic leadership and extensive knowledge and experience.”
Ian will replace former NCA Chief Financial Officer Ian Moston, who recently took up a post at Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as Chief Executive. Craig Carter is currently interim Chief Financial Officer at the NCA until Ian takes up his new role on 1 December, 2022.
