Trust Celebrate Armed Forces Pledge

19 June 2023

The Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust (NCA) has reaffirmed its commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant Pledge.

Professor Eileen Fairhurst MBE, Chairman at the NCA said: “We are delighted to extend our pledge to the Armed Forces community. We are proud to have reservists and veterans that work in a variety of roles across the NCA, and we value the contribution that they make. As a Trust, we continue to strive for excellence in all avenues of our commitments to the Armed Forces.”

The NCA initially signed the Armed Forces Covenant pledge in 2018 highlighting the support it will provide the Armed Forces community that includes help with personal issues, specific HR policies that cater for their needs and flexibility in training and roles offered for all reservists and veterans.

The reaffirmation ceremony took place ahead of Armed Forces Week, a time when each of the NCA Care Organisations will be hosting flag raising ceremonies in honour of our Armed Forces.

The event welcomed Diane Hawkins, Lord-Lieutenant of Greater Manchester who is responsible for  upholding the dignity of the Crown by appointment of HM The King.

The Trust has achieved an Employers Recognition Service Silver Award, and the Veterans Aware accreditation as an exemplar of best care for veterans.
