We want to ensure that your equipment is always in full working order. We therefore recommend that you make a test call at least once a month. Do this by either pressing the red button on the alarm or pressing your pendant.
When your call is answered, simply tell the operator that you are making a test call and they will confirm that everything is okay. If for any reason your test call is not answered, please ring the control centre on 0161 206 0546.
Risks of not testing equipment
If you do not test your equipment regularly you may be at risk. Faulty equipment may not connect you to the Control Centre. This is likely to result in a delay getting help to you which could cause you unnecessary distress.
If you have 1571 facility on your telephone for taking messages, you should check this regularly and delete old messages. If the message box is full, the alarm unit will be unable to send your call to the Control Centre.
If you are deaf or have a hearing loss, make sure you let Care on Call staff know. We will work with you to find a way of testing the equipment.
