Children with disabilities or people with challenging behaviour may require specialist assessment for car seats and harnesses. This can be arranged usually in conjunction with specialist companies. The William Merritt Centre - Leeds deliver Car Seat Clinics every 6 weeks. The William Merritt Centre - Sheffield arrange Clinics dependent upon demand. An estimated 74% of car seats are fitted incorrectly; assessment at the Car seat clinic ensures your child’s car seat is compatible with your vehicle. During the appointment, the postural needs of the child, and the moving and handling issues arising, will be assessed. (William Merritt Centre, 2022).
