Centralisation of the Laboratory Information Management System

Single Laboratory Information System

A healthcare Laboratory Information System (LIMS) is the critical system for managing all pathology testing and reporting. It's vital for laboratory medicine to operative effectively and efficiently, using software that allows the team to easily manage samples sent to the laboratory, along with the associated data and results.

The NCA currently has 250 hospitals providing laboratory services across 60million people from a small number of large centres.

This digital project will create a single system which means everyone will be fully intergrated across all our laboratories, working and reporting in the same way.

Alongside the introduction of a Single Patient Record, this is the largest programme delivered by the NCA and will open up opportunities for further digital advancements to improve patient care. For patients it will mean faster results and better care.
