Colleagues say they can’t wait to get started now they have seen the progress being made on the new Greater Manchester Major Trauma Hospital at Salford Royal.
A recent visit by colleagues to the new building included Sarah Ingleby, divisional director of nursing for Tertiary Medicine, who is supporting the nursing workforce preparedness for the move.
Sarah said: “The visit was fascinating; from the leadership of the programme, the positive attitude of the staff we met, the excellent finish of the building and very importantly, the fantastic break rooms for our staff. The development is even more impressive from the inside, and those views from the top! A very exciting time for Salford Care Organisation and NCA as a whole.”
Those on the visit included occupational therapist Rosa Farley who will be working with lots of patients in the new building for their acute treatment and rehabilitation. She said: “Being able to see the new build and how fast it is progressing has refreshed our excitement about the opportunities it will give.”
Natalie Blake, advanced clinical practitioner within Emergency General Surgery, added: “As the new build grows in stature, so does the excitement of what this building will bring to help improve our services and patient care. We are looking forward to completion date so we can get started.”
