National Apprenticeship Week 2022 starts today (7 Feb) and is the 15th annual week-long celebration of apprenticeships. The week brings together businesses and apprentices across the country to shine a light on the positive impact that apprenticeships make to individuals, businesses and the wider economy.
Here at the NCA, apprenticeships are a key part of our employer offer, enabling new and existing recruits to discover a place of opportunity and support.
It’s a place where we nurture, encourage and give colleagues the platform you need to become the very best you can be. A place that will spark your ambition, enable you to fulfil your potential and take a more practical approach to developing your career.

The theme for this year’s National Apprenticeship Week, which runs all this week, is 'build the future'; reflecting on how apprenticeships can help individuals to develop the skills and knowledge required for a rewarding career, and businesses to develop a talented workforce that is equipped with future-ready skills.
As an apprentice at the NCA you’ll have the opportunity to gain practical exposure and build-on your experience from day one. You’ll benefit from leading training and development opportunities and enjoy a wide variety of career paths to explore.
At the NCA our mission is to support individuals to gain paid employment, learn new skills or simply gain exposure to the world of healthcare, and our social value ambition is closely linked with our commitment to providing apprenticeships.
We’re committed to improving the life opportunities, inclusion, social mobility and health and wellbeing of our local population. Nearly 60% of our staff come from the communities we serve and our ambition is to increase this in the next five years. We know there is strong evidence linking decent work with good health and by employing local people and giving them access to apprenticeships we are supporting our local economy and infrastructure.
Not only that, the NCA starts early by working with local school and college students inspiring and helping them make their career decisions and showing them what a great career you can have here at the NCA. This is the place where you’ll make a difference. If you’re passionate, work hard and are driven to succeed, an apprenticeship with the NCA is a fantastic opportunity to develop a career in a clinical, service management or corporate role within the NHS.
