New wall mounted plaque at The Royal Oldham Hospital honours nurses involved in historic birth of world’s first IVF baby

Oldham Care Organisation and Oldham Council have unveiled a new commemorative plaque at The Royal Oldham Hospital to honour two nurses who played pivotal roles in the birth of the first IVF baby, Louise Brown.

Partial Car Park Closures at The Royal Oldham Hospital – 27 February to 2 March

From 27 February – 2 March 2022, contractors will be undertaking survey work on some of the car parking areas at The Royal Oldham Hospital and it will be necessary to put a number of temporary partial car park closures in place to enable them to safely complete the work.

These temporary closures will take place over the weekends of 4-7 February and 11-14 February.

The Ambulatory Care Unit at Oldham has moved and changed its name

The Royal Oldham Hospital’s Ambulatory Care Unit (ACU) has moved location and changed its name. The ACU has relocated to a new facility on Ward C1 and has relaunched under the new nationally recognised ‘Medical SDEC (Same Day Emergency Care) Unit’.

Beds bound for the bin find a new home at Oldham College

Patient beds destined to be scrapped have been rehomed at Oldham College to support students undertaking healthcare T Levels.
