Plastic Surgery - Royal Oldham

The plastic surgery service at Royal Oldham offers assessment and treatment for simple day case procedures. The service is delivered in conjunction with Manchester NHS Foundation Trust. Consultants visit once a week to see and treat patients from the local area. Patients who have more complex conditions needing specialist surgical equipment or aftercare will be seen at the main tertiary service at Wythenshawe Hospital. Children under the age of 16 will be seen at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.

All patients referred into the service under a Two Week Wait Skin Cancer Pathway are seen by our specialist team at Salford Royal Hospital.

The service provides clinics and day case surgery for hand surgery, Basal Cell Carcinoma and non-cosmetic minor plastic surgery treatments.

Patients referred and accepted into the service will be seen by one of our consultants in an outpatient clinic at the Lucy Pugh Outpatient Department.  An assessment will be made and where necessary further tests such as scans or biopsies may be arranged.

Once seen in the outpatient clinic patients may be discharged or if necessary listed for day surgery at Rochdale Infirmary.

Some patients may be seen and referred onto a more specialist service at Wythenshawe Hospital or a Dermatology Service for their treatment. If this is necessary the consultant in the clinic will explain why this is required and what the next steps for treatment will be.

If you are a patient and you have an appointment, please bring with you a list of current medications.
