Podiatry - Oldham Community

The podiatry service provides a range of podiatric assessments and treatments for problems with the foot and lower limb.

These include:

  • nail and skin pathologies (this is strictly based on medical need)
  • vascular and neurological assessment, a children's clinic
  • musculoskeletal assessment and treatment
  • advice regarding footcare/footwear/self management
  • woundcare management - with specialist input also from our High Risk Foot Team
  • provision of training to nursing home staff and carers
  • nail surgery

Diabetes UK - which has handy guides for taking care of your feet and spotting signs of any complications

Arthritis Research UK - if your podiatry problem is related to arthritis, this website contains useful information and tips for managing the condition

The Circulation Foundation - has information on peripheral arterial disease (PAD) and how to look after your vascular health

Raynaud’s Association - for information about footcare in relation to Raynaud's

NHS Choices  - which has lots of useful general information about looking after your health and wellbeing including topics such as falls prevention, weight management, and help and guidance on quitting smoking

Association of Paediatric Chartered Physiotherapists - information leaflets for parents and carers on a range of topics, including foot conditions and advice on choosing footwear.
