Alcohol Care Teams are small teams of specialists that support patients to reduce, quit or use alcohol more safely. They used to be known as Alcohol Liaison Services but have rebranded as Alcohol Care Teams as part of the NHS Long Term Plan.
- Specialist Alcohol Assessment
- Psychosocial Interventions (Talking Therapies)
- Maintaining Abstinence Advice and Relapse Prevention
- Referral on to Community Alcohol & Drug Treatment Services
The Alcohol Care Team sees both inpatients and outpatients.
On your first meeting they will do an assessment with you to identify your needs. They will then develop a care plan with you and deliver psychosocial interventions.
Referrals are made for inpatients by Ward/Department Staff.
