Business Administration Support - Bury Community

The Business Administration Support function within Community Services Bury currently consists of the following:- 

  • Single Point of Access (SPOA) Hub Admin Team 

  • Single Point of Access (SPOA) Reception Team 

  • Adult Community Nursing (Admin) Team (ACNT) 

  • Senior Management Business Support Admin Team 

  • Bury Living Well Centre Administration Team 

  • Township Support Officer Team 

Services are based at a number of sites across Bury including Humphrey House, Textile Hall and Integrated Neighbourhood Team bases as well as at Community Reception desks at the following locations:- 

  • Townside Primary Care Centre 

  • Tottington Health Centre 

  • Ramsbottom Health Centre 

  • Prestwich Health Centre 

  • Radcliffe Primary Care Centre 

  • Bury Living Well Centre 

The purpose of these teams is to provide day to day administrative support at different levels which includes referral management, diary management, governance and assurance, booking facilitating and supporting meetings, project support work, analysing data and developing processes to support an improved patient experience.

  • Single Point of Access (SPOA) Hub and Reception teams provide a referral management service for both new and existing patients for the following Community services. 

  • Adult Occupational Therapy (OT) 

  • Adult Physiotherapy 

  • Adult Speech and Language Therapy (SALT) 

  • Community Eye Service (CES) Adult and Paediatric 

  • Falls Service 

  • Neuro Rehabilitation 

  • Dietetics (Paediatrics) 

  • Paediatric Occupational Therapy 

  • Paediatric Physiotherapy 

  • Paediatric Speech and Language Therapy 

  • Podiatry 

  • Pulmonary Rehabilitation 

  • Wound Care & Lymphedema 

  • Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)

  • Health Visiting (letters only) 

  • Adult Community Nursing Admin provide support for same day urgent District Nursing referrals 

  • Township Support Officers provide administrative support for the Integrated Neighbourhood Teams (includes District Nursing and Social Care) and some community services 

  • Senior Management Business Support Admin Team provide diary management, meeting, governance and assurance and general administration support for Senior Managers.  They are also responsible for distribution of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and Lateral Flow Testing Kits.

When attending for appointments in a Community setting (Health Centre) patients will be required to provide details of their appointment when booking in. 

Patients will be required to provide personal details such as name, address, telephone number, email address, NHS number when contacting SPOA Hub, Reception or Adult Community Nursing admin teams. 

Referrals to Single Point of Access (SPOA) can be made in a number of ways:- 

  • Email – Spoa.fax@nca.nhs.uk (GP’s, Hospital Departments, other Community Services) 

  • Post (mainly Paediatric Speech and Language Therapy form schools and Health Visitors)  

  • E-referral (for GP’s) 

  • Self-referral (Wound Care and ymphedema)
