Children's Occupational Therapy - Oldham Community

This service is for children experiencing physical functional difficulties, aged 0-18.

The team is based at the Integrated Care Centre in Oldham town centre.

Clinic assessments are carried out at the Integrated Care Centre, and we also work in community settings such as schools and at home, depending on the reason for the referral.

Children may be referred for a range of reasons including assessments/advice about:

  • Specialist equipment for daily living and promoting physical function.
  • Sensory Processing Difficulties
  • Fine Motor Skills
  • Self-care skills

Clinic input usually consists of assessment and advice.

Assessments for Sensory processing difficulties, fine-motor, and  self-help skills are usually carried out at the Integrated Care Centre. These are one-off appointments lasting approximately one, to one and a half hours, followed by provision of a written report containing individualised advice.

Equipment assessments/advice may be offered at home, education settings or at the Integrated Care Centre as appropriate.
