The children’s speech and language therapy traded service describes the opportunity for settings to enhance or ‘trade’ in order to increase the amount of support that they have in settings. This is over and above the NHS mainstream service.
The support that the traded service provides is individual to each setting. We will discuss with you the amount and type of support your setting will need and will work flexibly to meet the identified needs of the setting staff and children.
The cost for traded speech and language therapy will vary according to how much time your setting needs and what level of expertise you require from the service. If you would like to know more about buying in additional speech and language therapy, please contact our Children’s Speech and Language Therapy Service on:
0161 206 0606 - Monday to Friday (8am to 6pm)
Healthcare professionals can use the Getting Help Portal to make a referral.
Families with a child aged 0 to 4 years old should attend a Talking Walk-in where they can speak to a Speech and Language Therapist for further advice and reassurance about their child’s speech, language and communication, please see availability below:
Raising Rochdale's Speech, Language, and Communication Support for Parents and Carers
Families with a child aged 5 to 19 years old in an educational setting, should speak to the school SENDCo and/or link speech and language therapist regarding their child’s speech, language and communication.
If you have further queries about the above, please contact us on: 0161 206 0606 from 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday.
