What type of ward is L6?
L6 is a 36 bedded mixed sex ageing complex medicine ward.
We take a multidisciplinary approach to providing a holistic care need to our patients. Our team consists of nursing staff, medical doctors including a consultant, registrar and junior doctors. We work closely with the therapy teams to support patient independence, whilst working together with specialist teams to ensure that your care is both appropriate and effective.
On your arrival to L6 we will complete a thorough admission including MRSA swabs and risk assessments, which contains important information about you and your care needs, so please let us know if we can help you with anything. Staff are never too busy to help so please ask if you need anything. On L6 it is important to us that you feel there is someone there to listen to your concerns and support you through your stay with us.
From admission on the ward, we will begin to plan your discharge home or to an area appropriate for your care needs such as a nursing home, intermediate care etc. This is to prevent prolonged hospital stays and reduce the risk of you developing any infections
On behalf of all the nursing and medical team welcome to L6.
