Jean, a health care assistant who has worked on the Panda Unit at Salford Royal for eight years has become social media famous thanks to the outstanding care she provides.
The Panda Unit provides emergency care and assessment for the children and young people of Salford.
The outpouring of positive messages followed a post hoping to track Jean down to thank her for her kindness treating a relative.
The message said: “Delilah (three years-old) was so scared at the hospital, and Jean made such a big difference in her experience, cleaning her up, dressing her wound, (having) calming conversations, and gifting something special to Delilah for being brave.

“You could just tell she was such a lovely caring person she reminds me of my mum.”
In her role Jean helps provide emergency care and assessment for children and young people across Salford and their families who can often be very distressed.
Jean, who is also a Salford resident, said: “It is so important to relax the whole family showing empathy and understanding of the fear all parties feel. I seem to have a good ability to calm both children and parents down.”
Other messages included:
- “Not only does she go above and beyond for the children but for the parents too. She put light into the dark days for us when we were in separate rooms with our very poorly babies, and she was a great support.”
- “She treated my daughter last week after a nasty electric scooter accident. She was lovely and helped ease her shock. Always helps to have caring staff in a stressful situation.”
- “This woman saved my little girl’s life. She deserves the world. Thank you, Jean.”
- “She is a wonderful lady! Always the nicest when I’ve been in with my boys - always making sure the parents are okay too.”
- “Amazing woman she helped us nine months ago when we went through the hardest time with our newborn and somehow put a smile on our faces, unbelievable woman.”
Jean admits she doesn’t do social media, but she has received countless texts about the messages and has said she is certainly feeling the love.
She added: “I work with amazing people who work hard each day to provide great care. I love to make people all around the hospital feel wanted and that we care.
“My reward is the joy of fixing the problem and going home with a clear conscience.”
