The Tissue Viability and Lymphoedema Service provides expert knowledge, both in the prevention and treatment of chronic non healing and complex wounds, and the treatment and management of chronic oedema.
We offer comprehensive assessments and treatments for all patients who can attend clinic and also those in their own homes, residential and nursing homes. These include:
- Pressure relieving equipment assessment and advice
- Pressure ulcer prevention and management
- Expert telephone advice on general wound care issues
- Larval therapy
- Topical negative pressure wound therapy
- Chronic lymphovenous oedema treatments
- Leg ulcer assessment
- Lymphoedema/chronic oedema assessment
- Lymphoedema bandaging and standard and custom fit compression garments.
We also provides education and training in:
- Wound assessment
- Pressure ulcer prevention and management
- Leg ulcer assessment and management
- Compression hosiery for prevention of recurrence
- Chronic oedema management
The service also maintains and monitors clinical practice guidelines in all aspects of tissue viability based on best available evidence.
