Juliette Cosgrove has been appointed as NCA’s new chief nursing officer for the next 12 months.
Juliette has nearly 40 years’ experience working in healthcare. Her clinical career was spent in neurosurgery and critical care and she was one of the first critical care nurse consultants at Leeds Teaching Hospitals. As Chief Nurse at Southport and Ormskirk NHS Trust and latterly the Chief Nurse at NHS Professionals, Juliette has a keen focus on patient safety, infection prevention and control and quality governance.
She said: “I am proud to join NCA at such an exciting time. As we move into our clinically led model and prepare for the implementation of an electronic patient record, these significant programmes of change will ensure that we focus on improving outcomes for patients and their experience of care.”
Juliette will be joined next month (July) by a new deputy chief nurse Katie Robinson. Katie will join the NCA from Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust where she works as an associate chief nurse.
Katie said: “I’m excited to be joining the NCA and I’m really looking forward to working with colleagues across the organisation to champion safety, lead with compassion, and help foster a culture where both patients and staff feel valued, heard, and supported.”
Katie has experience of working in mental health, community and hospital services and has led programmes focused on improving patient safety through safer staffing, enhanced clinical education and shared decision-making.
